The CDE Academy is proud to launch our Nutrition Master Class Series for 2023
Nutrition is one of the most controversial and difficult aspects of the management of diabetes.
The American Diabetes Association Standards of Care in Diabetes (ADA, 2023) state that, “for many individuals with diabetes, the most challenging part of the treatment plan is determining what to eat”.
Given the broad spectrum of people affected by diabetes, a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach to medical nutrition therapy is unrealistic.
Thus, to support each person in the nutritional aspects of their self-care, individualisation is a recurring theme seen in diabetes care generally and in nutrition counselling and coaching specifically.
The CDE Academy series of Nutrition Masterclasses for 2023 will unpack various approaches that form part of a comprehensive approach to medical nutritional therapy in diabetes.
