Menopause – end of the road, or part of the journey?

Comprehensive management of diabetes must always consider person-specific attributes. Our August Journal Club will focus on the menopause and explore the bi-directional relationship between this transitional state and diabetes.

Aspects around the initiation, monitoring and possible withdrawal of menopause hormone treatment (MHT) will be clarified. The adverse impact of poor sleep beyond obstructive sleep apnoea will be highlighted, and why this under-appreciated aspect of care should receive equal attention in daily clinical practice.
