Dr Wendy Duncan is a specialist psychiatrist with expertise in child and adolescent mental health. Her background in medicine and psychiatry is complemented by a holistic psychosocial approach, recognising the important relationship between individual wellbeing, family functioning and broader social influences on mental health.
She adopts a multidisciplinary approach to assessment and treatment, working closely with psychologists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, remedial therapists and social workers to ensure comprehensive care for children and their families.
During nearly two decades in psychiatry, Dr Duncan has gained extensive experience across acute psychiatric services, psychiatric intensive care units (PICU), long-term treatment settings and community-based psychiatric rehabilitation programmes.
Her involvement in women's mental health services sparked a strong interest in family wellbeing and ultimately led to her specialisation in child psychiatry. This work has reinforced her commitment to promoting child health, maternal mental health and healthy family relationships through evidence-based clinical care.
